Camogie - Our Under 14 s hosted Brian Borus in Monroe on Tuesday evening. The girls were up against a physically bigger team and were under pressure from the off. However they got stuck in and are to be commended for their bravery and commitment. Brian Borus led by 3-0 to no score at half time. The second half saw Moyle Rovers win a lot more possession and were soon rewarded with a pointed free by Eimer Ryan. The introduction of Rachael Browne greatly helped the cause. The game was now very even but despite many chances the scores did not come. The final score was 3-0 to -0-1.

Team: Emma Tobin, Amy Norris, Louise Norris, Sarah O’Dwyer, Emma Cronin, Roisín Breen, Jenny Everard, Roweena Dowling, Emer Ryan, Leah McGarry, Aine Fitzgerald, Sophie Delaney, Rachael Browne, Eadaoin O’Sullivan, Clare O’Dwyer. The under 12s continued their great form by beating Arravale Rovers last Saturday 6-5 to 0-0.

Ladies football - Hard luck to our senior team who were beaten by Cahir last Friday evening. We were short a number of players including our county representatives. The team did their best against a very determined Cahir and were left to rue the many scoring chances missed. At the finish just one point separated the teams. The under 16s played Clonmel Commercials in the Sportsfiled on Sunday. Playing against a strong wind in the opening half our girls were put under immediate pressure by a committed Clonmel team who landed an early goal. Our girls responded well and soon had a point on the board followed by a well worked goal. Three more goals followed in the first half to give us a comfortable half time lead of 4-4 to 1-4.. The weather continued to deteriorate and our girls helped with the strong wind ran out comfortable winners on a score of 4-15 to 1-4. This was a very good performance. We now take the challenge to Cahir in the semi final and go into this game with our brave and couragous team. The under 14s are preparing for their Feile trip as Tipperary representatives. A number of fundraising activities are being put in place. There is a collection of old clothes, books,s oft toys, shoes and old mobile phones. Details of when these can be delivered to Monroe to follow, Please support as generously as possible as the cost of going to Feile in Derry is very significant. Well done to the Tipperary Intermediate team who beat Leitrim in the league quarter final last Sunday. We are especially pleased for our three county representatives, Niamh Lonergan, Katie Lyne, Barbara Ryan and Team manager Sean O’Donovan and Kay Lyons part of the backroom team. We wish them all the best in the semi final.

The club sends condolences to the Norris family Rathronan on the death of Pat, and the Burke family Lisronagh on the death of Nellie.

Best wishes to Jimmy Ryan who is celebrating his 90th. birthday shortly.
