Tipperary got their National Hurling League campaign back on track with a narrow two point win over Galway at Semple Stadium on Sunday, 2-20 to 2-18.
With the sides level for the 14th time entering the finals minutes, Tipp wrapped up the league points with late scores from Johnny Ryan and Noel McGrath.
It was a badly needed with for Tipp following their first round defeat to Kilkenny and maintained the improved form they had shown last week in the Waterford Crystal final win over Clare.
Pa Burke was Tipp’s top scorer with 1-6 on a day when the forwards looked sharp in the new ‘life after Lar’ era for Tipperary hurling.
Manager Declan Ryan was pleased with the display in advance of another tough assignment this weekend against Waterford.
