On Saturday, September 15, Cahir’s U13s headed to St Jude’s in Dublin for the All Ireland Mini Sevens.

They were invited guests as Cahir’s U13s won the tournament last year.

First they played Faughs, Dublin, and were beaten 2-03 to 0-1, a special mention to our goalie and captain on the day, Dervla Buckley who was on blistering form. Our next opponents were St. Martins, Wexford, and we were bruised after a 4-1 to 0-0 defeat. Our final match was against Naas, Kildare and we were beaten 1-03 to 3-04. We were very proud of the girls as they gave 100%. The cup made its way to Sarsfields, Galway in the final.

Our full squad were Dervla Buckley, Niamh Costello, Roisin McCarthy, Orla Cashman, Alanah Doheny, Aoife Cashamn, Emma Walsh, Sarah Burke, Lauren Noonan, Emma Quirke and Emily Donavan.

U14 Reach county Semi-Final

Well done to our U14 team on reaching the county semi-final recently after beating the Silvermines in a play-off. This match was played in the Ragg Thurles. The girls put up a spirited fight against Newport. The first half was a close encounter but Newport pulled away in the second half and won well in the end. The girls played well put could not get the scores on the board. Well done girls. Best of luck to Newport in the final.
