County Draw

Congratulations to John and Maureen Moroney who won €500 in the October draw, held in Mullinahone on Friday night.

Well done to Martin Moloney on his excellent performance in Strictly Come Dancing last Friday night in Hotel Minella.

Martin represented the Cahir GAA club in this fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s association.

Although we all knew Martin was light on his feet on the dance floor, none of us were aware how good he really is.

An U13 team played in a county hurling blitz last week.

Their game against Gortnahoe-Glengoole was an excellent game, played the way hurling should be played, tough and fair.

We are out again in a west V south hurling blitz on October 20, in Duneske.

The U10 squad played a blitz in Ballylooby last Saturday.

They played Clooneen, Fr. Sheehys, Newcastle and St. Mary’s. The lads acquitted themselves very well on the day.

With the nights closing in the younger lads are going indoor hurling. This will take place in the Colaiste next Thursday night.

The times are U6 6.30pm to 7.15pm and U8 7.15pm to 8pm.

This is an ideal opportunity for younger children to try out hurling in a fun environment.

All that is needed is a pair of runners as helmets and hurleys will be provided for those that are starting and may not have any.

The GAA club are running an unusual fundraiser at the moment. Joe Murphy is running in the Dublin city marathon on the bank holiday.

Tickets are for sale with the exact time that Joe will complete the course, at €2 each.

The time Joe completes the course in will be published in the papers the next day.

If you have the correct time you will get €500. Tickets are available from club members.

Many thanks to Joe, for helping out the club.
