St. Mary’s Hurling Club
Our Under 8 league finals were played last Saturday. Over 40 boys played very competitive matches. The Blue Hawks and the Jerseys were in the playoff. The Yellow Bombers and the Red Leopards contested the final. As always there was a great turnout of parents and supporters and the South Tipperary Games Development Administrator Johnny Cummins was also there to cheer on our boys. The Red Leopards won a hard fought final with a blistering second half display. Our own Darren Cass All Ireland Minor Hurling Medal winner 2012 presented the trophies to the delighted Reds. John Carew was on hand to present the Man of the Match awards to Dylan Murphy and Conor Guiry. Ruairi Leahy received the Player of the Tournament award from Johnny Cummins. Many thanks to all parents for their support throughout the year and to Kevin Leahy, Paddy Bond, Peter Egan, Ger Deeley and Paul Cagney for their help in looking after the team throughout the year. Happy Christmas and looking forward to seeing you all in the new year.
A New Baby!
The future now looks very bright indeed for St. Mary’s Camogie Club with the wonderful news of a new daughter for Noel and Martina O’Mahoney! Gracie is her name, and with the combination of good looks and brains between the parents, I’ve no doubt she’ll grace our field one fine day!
A very successful Christmas Party was had for the children last Sunday, where Santa was guest of honour and a good time was had by all. Many thanks to all those made it such a success.
The Chairman, Officers and committee of St. Mary’s would like to sincerely thank all those who contributed to a successful year for the club, both on and off the field. We would like to wish you all a Very Happy and Peaceful Christmas and hope that the New Year brings good fortune to us all.
