Moyle Rovers U-13 camogie team faced Fethard in their second championship game on Tuesday, July 9 in Fethard on a very warm evening.

Both teams were very evenly matched and we had a great game of camogie with a full complement available to both sides.

Fethard opened the scoring with a point. Leah McGarry responded with a well taken goal. This was followed by a pointed free by Emer Ryan. Great work by our defence of Emma Tobin, Ellen Buckley, Louise Norris, Karen Meehan, Yasmin Quirke, Emma Cronin and Makayala O’Donnell kept the Fethard forwards at bay leaving the half-time score 1-1 to 0-1 in our favour.

Fethard came out at half time and scored a quick goal followed by three points. Pressure from our midfielders Aine Fitzgerald and Emer Ryan and forward line of Sarah Hickey, Leah McGarry, Alannah Dowling, Sophie Delaney, Caitriona Phelan resulted in Sarah O’Connor getting a well deserved goal. This sealed our victory on the the narrowest of margins 2-2 to 1-4.

Ice-cream was a welcome treat thanks to John Ryan. Well done girls!
