Waterford beat Tipp in senior hurling challenge

Waterford 2-21 Tipperary 1-17

Waterford beat Tipperary by 7 points in a Senior Hurling challenge at Holycross on Sunday evening to mark the official opening of the John Doyle Centre.

Waterford led at half-time by 1-11 to 1-9 and extended their advantage in the second half to run out convincing winners in a game played before an attendance of about 1,000 at the Mid Tipp venue.

Three weeks ahead of their crunch championship clash with Cork at Semple Stadium, Tipp welcomed back captain, Eoin Kelly; Seamus Callanan and Pat Kerwick on their return from injury to the starting fifteen.
