Clonmel Commercials won the South Tipperary senior football title when they defeated five-in-a-row champions Moyle Rovers on Sunday.

It was the first win in seven years for the Clonmel side who were helped to the title by outstanding displays from Eamonn Hanrahan and Ian Barnes as well as two members of the All Ireland winning Tipperary minor team, Michael Quinlivan and Ian Fahey, who came on as subs and made huge contributions, Fahey kicking the last two points of the game.

The final score was 2-6 to 1-3.

Rovers were without the injured Declan Browne and Brian Mulvihill and their attack struggled as a result.
