Intermediates bid to retain South title

St. Mary’s Hurling Club,

St. Mary’s Hurling Club,

It is a busy week for St Mary’s players and supporters. On this Friday in Kilsheelin our Minors play Ballingarry. We must win this to qualify for a semi final place. The throw-in is at 6.15.

On Sunday in Cahir at 3.30 we play Ballybacon/Grange in the Intermediate South Final. It’s a wonderful achievement for this team to be in a position to defend their title.

These are two big games and we ask young and old to come out and support the lads for both matches. Parents of our young players are encouraged to bring their children to both Kilsheelin and Cahir and to cheer on both teams.

Under 16s

The lads will have played Carrick Swans last Monday evening in the South Semi Final.

Under 14s

Last Thursday we played Ballingarry in the South Final and unfortunately we lost on the night. Thanks to all the players who put in a huge effort during the year and to the mentors for all their work with them.

Under 6s, 8s and 10s

Training on Saturday morning from 10.00 to 11.30. Parents of under 6s please note training for this group finishes at 11.00.

Forty-two under 8 boys arrived to play for St. Mary’s in the South Board blitz in the GAA Centre on Saturday last. St Mary’s fielded 4 talented teams who showed their skills against 6 visiting teams . Well done to all the boys who again did St Mary’s proud . Fantastic to have all the boys back training and welcome to the new starters. Many thanks to everyone who helped out on the day.

Club Jerseys

Parents who have ordered jerseys for their children may collect them from John Carew (08) 8317591 and for those who have not booked one there are five left if you wish to purchase.

Best of Luck

To all of our lads starting college or returning to college this week and next we wish you the best of luck in your studies and keep up your hurling skills by getting involved with your college’s team

Sympathies

The club extends its sincere sympathy to Billy Carroll and family on the death of his aunt Kitty Dillon in Cahir. We also send sincere sympathy to Eric Martin on the death of his father Eric (Senior) who died in Swindon. Eric (Junior) has been a great sponsor to the upgrading of elements in our field.

May they both rest in peace.
