The under 14 ladies team retained their Feile crown in Duneske, Cahir, on Easter Monday. On a bitterly cold day for players and supporters alike the team proved thier worth as winners being the only undefeated team at the end of the day.
Proceeding opened against Lattin Cullen with a 2-3 to 0-1 win. Next up were Cahir and the final score was 2-4 to 0-0 in our favour. The third game was against Aherlow and again our girls showed great determination and footballing skills to emerge winners by 3-1 to 0-1.

The under 16s played their championship game vs Aherlow in Monroe last Sunday.Aherlow proved a very tough opposition. Our girls started well and had plenty of chances in the opening half which we failed to convert. This was to prove costly in the end. The half time score was 3 points each. In the second half we were against the strong breeze. Aherlow piled on the pressure and were leading 2-5 to 0-3 when our girls came back into the game strongly and scored a great goal, Andrea Hyland finishing to the net. We ran out of time and were beaten by 2-5 to 1-3. Hard luck and well done to our girls on a difficult day for Football. We now play Commercials this weekend.
The senior team opened their championship with a very good win against Brian Borus also on Sunday. This game was played in very windy conditions and was played 12 a side creating a very open and fast game. Brian Borus opened the scoring with Gillian O’Brien getting the leveller two mins later. From that point on Moyle Rovers were never behind for the rest of the game. and despite playing against the wind, went in 2-09 to 1-3 ahead. Brian Borus started the second half stronger but we weathered the challenge well.. Moyle Rovers settled down well and took their chances. The final score 3-16 to 2-06 in our favour.
Last week was a very busy Camogie week. Our U14 camogie team got their season off to a great start with a win against Arravale Rovers on Tuesday in Tipperary town. It was a great team performance and all the girls played their part. The defence of Amy Norris, Louise Norris, Eadaoin O’Sullivan and Clare O’Dwyer were very solid. The half-back line of Sarah O’Dwyer, Emma Cronin and Róisín Breen covered great ground and gave great supply of ball to the forwards. Roweena Dowling opened our account with a well taken goal to the top right hand corner of the net followed by a point from a free by Emer Ryan who soon hit the back of the net herself. Emma Cronin swooped and got a goal. Leah McGarry converted a rebound from a great save by the Arravale goalie. We continued to apply pressure and Áine Fitzgerald and Leah McGarry took their goal opportunities to close out the game, well supported by Sophie Delaney and Jenny Everard. Well done girls and thanks to their coaches Andrew and Mairead Dowling.
