Nenagh Éire Óg and Loughmore Castleiney qualified for the county senior hurling championship quarter finals with wins over Silvermines and Roscrea respectively last Saturday evening.
Nenagh Eire Og won by 1-21 to 0-8 while Loughmore Castleiney conceded 2 late goals to win by 0-21 to 2-11.
Loughmore Castleiney will play in their 24th county senior hurling quarter final this year. Their first was in 1983 and most recent in 2012 and they have won 11 and lost 12 to date.
Nenagh Eire Og will play their 17th and they won 9 and lost 7 of the previous 16. Their first was in 1982 and last in 2011.
The remaining 2 quarter-finalists will be decided on Saturday September 7 at Holycross when Borris-Ileigh play Carrick Swan at 2.30pm and Toomevara play Clonoulty Rossmore at 4.30pm.
