The Kilkenny county senior hurling final, which will be played at Nowlan Park next Sunday has a Tipperary connection.
The Dicksboro Management team includes former Tipperary player, Liam Maher, ex Boherlahan Dualla.
Liam’s son, Shane, will line out at full forward as the Dicksboro men seek to beat Ballyhale Shamrocks and win a first title since 1993.
The club has won four titles to date and in 1950 Mick Ryan (Roscrea native) played for Tipperary against his club mates in the All Ireland final before they all reunited afterwards and helped the ‘Boro to win the County title.
Mick’s point in Tipp’s win was the last time a Dicksboro man scored in an All Ireland Final until Cillian Buckley landed a point for Kilkenny, in this year’s replay win over Galway.
