The Ardfinnan Teams of the Past that won the 1970 and 1974 County Senior Football titles were honoured on county final day on Sunday.
The players were introduced to the crowd at the final in Semple Stadium between Clonmel Commercials and Thomas MacDonaghs and later that evening were feted at a function in the Clonmel Park Hotel hosted by the County Board, The Nationalist and the Park Hotel.
All the players from both squads were presented with a team photograph taken earlier in the day in Thurles and a scroll marking their achievement.
Tributes were paid to the players from one of the glory eras for Ardfinnan football by County Board chairman Sean Nugent, editor of The Nationalist Michael Heverin and chairman of the organising committee John Costigan.
Captain of the 1974 team Eamonn O’Gorman replied on behalf of the players and thanked all involved for what turned out to be a wonderful occasion for the players and their families when great memories and occasions were recalled.
