Holders Drom-Inch and Thurles Sarsfields are through to the County Tipperary senior hurling final following semi-finals wins at Semple Stadium on Sunday.

Drom-Inch needed extra time to beat fellow Mid side Loughmore-Castleiney, 2-26 to 1-21.

Sarsfields were raging hot favourites to beat Eire Og Annacarty in the first semi-final but didn’t have everything their own way against a spirited West Tipperary side.

Following an even first half, Sarsfields were only ahead by four points at the break, 1-11 to 0-10.

However they upped the tempo in the second half and with fine performances from county men Lar Corbett, Padraic Maher and Pa Bourke they ran out winners by twelve points, 2-22 to 1-13.

Defender-turned-forward Conor O’Brien scored two fine late points for Eire Og and also set up substitute Michael McGrath for their goal.

The final takes place in Semple Stadium next Sunday.
