Loughmore are best in schools quiz

The county final of the Tipperary Primary Schools Table Quiz was held on Sunday night in the Thurles Sarsfields Clubhouse before a large attendance. Twenty teams took part and after some excellent answering Loughmore N.S. emerged as winners with a score of 59 points from a possible 64.

The county final of the Tipperary Primary Schools Table Quiz was held on Sunday night in the Thurles Sarsfields Clubhouse before a large attendance. Twenty teams took part and after some excellent answering Loughmore N.S. emerged as winners with a score of 59 points from a possible 64.

After a series of tie-break questions the other prize winners were 2nd - Golden N.S.; 3rd – Newport Boys N.S.; 4th – St. Michaels N.S. Holycross and 5th – Gael Scoil, Nenagh.

The prizes were presented by Andy O’Gorman, County Youth Committee. Andy has been a member of the Youth Committee for many years and he was one of those responsible for the commencement of the Primary School Quiz which has gone from strength to strength over the years.

Joe Kerrigan, C.E.O. Centenary Thurles Co-Op represented the sponsors. John Smith, County Children’s Officer, was the quizmaster. Well done to all who participated and who helped organise the event, and congratulations to the winners.
