The Camogie club held their AGM on Wednesday December 5. Outgoing chairperson Olivia Shanahan reviewed the year’s progress on the training and playing fields and reflected on the club’s chance of glory in the under 13 county final. Olivia Shanahan, Karen Fitzgerald and Antoinette Delahunty stepped down as Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer respectively. All three have given tremendous service to the club over the last number of years and are to be congratulated and thanked for their generosity of effort and time in promoting Camogie and running the club. All three have remained on in supporting roles for the new committee.
The following Officers were elected for 2013. President, Claire Lonergan; Chairperson, Andrew Dowling; Vice Chair, Olivia Shanahan; Joint Secretaries, Ann McGarry and Karen Fitzgerald; Treasurer, Aine O’Donnell; Assistant Treasurer, Antoinette Delahunty; PRO, Paudie Everard; Player Welfare, Marion Power; Registrar, Sinead Hickey; County Board reps, Andrew Dowling, Aine O’Donnell, Claire Lonergan; Schools officer, Mairead Kelly. We wish the new committee well for 2013.
The primary aim of the club is to give girls the opportunity to play one the greatest field games in the world. In the process they learn to master the skills, enjoy the social interaction and build a store of great memories along the way. Winning is just a bonus. Those who take on the responsibility in running and developing a club deserves all the support and encouragement we can give them and we wish them well for a succesful 2013. We take this opportunity to wish all our players and supporters a very Happy Christmas and we hope to see you all in the new year healthy and well and rarin’ to go.
Ladies football. The ladies football club are holding their AGM this Wednesday December 12 in Monroe at 8.00pm. all are welcome. The AGM is a time to look back with pride on the year’s achievements and look forward to the coming year with plans and hope.
