There was plenty of Tipperary involvement in last Sunday’s Leinster senior hurling final between Dublin and Galway.

There was plenty of Tipperary involvement in last Sunday’s Leinster senior hurling final between Dublin and Galway.

Johnny Ryan of Boherlahan Dualla did an excellent job as referee and well done to him and his team of officials.

Richard Stakelum who captained Tipperary to end their Munster 16 year Munster senior hurling title famine in 1987 is a Dublin selector and this time helped end a 52 year famine of Leinster titles.

Ryan O’Dwyer from Cashel is a prominent member of the team, Ross Dunphy, who trained the Tipperary senior hurlers last year, is Dublin’s trainer this year and there are several Dublin players with strong Tipperary connections.

Well done to all of them on their deserved success.
