FOOTBALL A.G.M.

The Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Football AGM took place Thursday, 12th September, at 7p.m. in Hayes’ Hotel, Thurles. Secretary Aodán Wrenn gave his report to the delegates in attendance which included a reiteration of the non-competitive structure and ethos of the U-11 Football Go-Games model. Aodán’s compassion for this model was very evident and he actively invited schools to enter second teams in these competitions to bring participation in Football to as many as possible. Treasurer Jerry McDonnell gave his report on the solid financial position of Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol. This was then followed by Chairman Paddy Kelly’s address. A special word of thanks was mentioned for those who contributed to the great success of the hurling county finals in Semple Stadium in June of this year. Fixtures for the U-13 Football and Ladies Football preceded the conclusion of the meeting and these, along with minutes from the meeting, have been forwarded to schools by Secretary Aodán Wrenn.

FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Fixtures for this year’s U-13 Football and Ladies Football competition have been drawn up and finalised at the Football AGM on Thursday 12th September. These have been emailed to all schools by Secretary Aodán Wrenn. Schools are encouraged to adhere to the dates of play set out in the fixtures so that county finals can proceed on time. All schools are also reminded to text results of each match to the Secretary in a timely fashion. U-11 fixtures are yet to be finalised but will be emailed to schools in the coming weeks when confirmed. Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol would like to wish everyone an enjoyable campaign for the 2013 football season.

MOUTHGUARDS

As the football season begins schools are reminded of the importance of mouthgaurds for all children participating in Cumann na mBunscol matches. All boys training for and playing Gaelic football must wear mouthguards at all times. Girls playing Ladies Football and training for Ladies Football are not obliged to wear mouthguards until the 1st of January 2014. However, girls playing football on boy’s teams will have to wear mouthguards from now.
