This year won’t go down as the best for bringing home county titles to the division, South secretary Seamus Mullins says to Friday’s convention.

Only 3 county titles have come south - Ballyporeen in in intermediate football, Ardfinnan in under 21 ‘A’ football and Clonmel Commercials in minor football.

“I would to congratulate Commercials on winning four county minor football a titles in a row, the Commercials teams of ‘69 and ‘71 who were honoured at half time of the county senior football final, Loughmore-Castleiney who completed a unique double and made history by becoming the first club in Tipperary to win both senior hurling and senior football titles.

“And to Brendan Cummins who retired from the Tipperary senior hurling team after a marvellous 20 year career - we wish him well in his retirement”.
