The financial report will show gate receipts down about €18,000 on last year, Friday’s convention will be told.#
But secretary Seamus Mullins says the present climate so much unemployment around must be taken into account while the board also reduced ticket prices to try and encourage more people to attend our games.
This has helped a little he says but adds public support for the games still remains strong and attendances are holding up at most games.
“I would like to thank our financial team of Mick Quinn, Tom Cusack, Noel Byrne, and Miceal O’Meara and our gate checkers for all the hard work in 2013.
“The sponsorship of our championships is a major help to our finances and the benefits that have accrued have been most helpful in the promotion of our games.
“But it is disappointing that we still don’t have a sponsor for our senior hurling championship”.
