No luck for Cashel, Clerihan and Ballingarry

In the County Tipperary Community Games GAA County Finals in Semple Stadium, Thurles, the Cashel-Rosegreen under 11 boys hurling team went heartbreakingly close to taking the title, losing by only one point to Cloughjordan.

In the County Tipperary Community Games GAA County Finals in Semple Stadium, Thurles, the Cashel-Rosegreen under 11 boys hurling team went heartbreakingly close to taking the title, losing by only one point to Cloughjordan.

This was the best match of the day. The talent and skill displayed by young boys in this age group on both teams was amazing.

On the Cashel team were -Dan Moloney, Dylan Foley, Evan Moloney, Donal Ryan, Aaron Breen, Jaymes O’Sullivan, Conor O’Dwyer, TJ Barron, Cian Moloney  Ross Whelan, Thomas Delaney, Jack McGrath, Aaron Moloney, Kevin Gayson-Molloy, Jake Cotter, Ross Minogue, Eoghan Murphy, Mickey Delaney, Ethan Gayson-Molloy.

In Under 11 Girls Clerihan lost to Thurles in the football final. This was Clerihan’s first ever girls team to enter this competition, they had beaten Fethard and Mullinahone (who had defeated Ardfinnan) on their way to the final where they lost 3-10 to 2-3.

The team was Chloe Lawrence (Capt), Kate Corcoran, Orla O’Donnell, Aislinn Gillman, Hannah Phelan, Abbie Conran, Mia Cooney, Zoe Power, Niamh Laste, Makayla O’Donnell, Fiona McGrath, Leah Clancy, Catriona Rice, Emma Hennessey, Kayleigh Flannery, Megan O’Donnell, Katie McCarthy, Michelle Cronin, Romy McCarthy,

In U14 Camogie, Cashel played their hearts out in the final v Nenagh with each girl doing their job to the best of their ability but they could not match the strength and stamina of the girls from Nenagh who won the championship for the second successive year with an almost identical panel of players.

The Cashel team was -Ciara Moloney, Jessica Furlong, Kate O’Donnell, Aine O’Dwyer, Jane Grogan, Caoimhe Perdue, Laura Connolly, Emma McLoughlin, Kelly Corbett, Megan White, Janeanne Fitzgerald, Eimear Allison, Lorna McGeer, Celine Walsh.

The under 10 mixed football team from Ballingarry faced up to a very confidant and talented team from Roscrea who were going for a hat trick in this event and succeeded in doing so. The Ballingarry boys also played well and gave some fine displays of football skills but they are a young team who had some great games against Powerstown in the south semi final and Fethard –Killusty in the south final
