Tipp hurling success comes at a cost - Supporters Club needs more members now

For Tipperary Hurling supporters, the 2012 Championship Season has been hugely enjoyable so far. With the Munster Senior and Minor Hurling titles already in the bag, the Under 21s have also qualified for the Munster Final and the Intermediates also have contributed to a record of 10 wins out of 10 games played. With wins over every county in Munster across the four different Championships, a first ever clean sweep of Senior, Minor and Under 21 Munster titles in the same year for Tipperary is now a possibility.

With wins over every county in Munster across the four different Championships, a first ever clean sweep of Senior, Minor and Under 21 Munster titles in the same year for Tipperary is now a possibility.

The success to date has come as no fluke but is a result of huge skill, commitment and dedication by all the players and management teams involved, all of which is greatly appreciated by the Tipperary supporters. With such commitment to training and match preparation comes expense in such areas as travel, meals, specialist expertise and medical expenses. As the teams progress in the Championship those expenses increase and the Tipperary Supporters Club raises funds to help out with those costs.

Declan Ryan, Senior Manager, commented: “Success in any sport requires top-level preparation, which can give us the vital edge in the heat of the Championship. The Tipperary Supporters Club is a fantastic support to the Tipperary players and management in ensuring that we are the best that we can be when representing Tipperary. A great way for Tipperary supporters to show their support is to join the Tipperary Supporters Club and I would personally ask each and every Tipperary supporter to join the Tipperary Supporters Club.”

According to Paul Curran, Senior Captain: “We were delighted to retain the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and all the players are fully focused on regaining the All-Ireland Championship this year. The squad is well looked after in every aspect of our preparations for the Championship campaign and we really appreciate the extra funding from the Tipperary Supporters Club which can make all the difference between success and failure. Please join the Tipperary Supporters Club this year and help in our drive for the All-Ireland.”

Liam Sheedy added: “As a player and manager, I was always keenly aware of the huge support provided by the Tipperary Supporters Club. That help was vital to Tipperary winning the All-Ireland Senior Championship in 2010 and I know it is the envy of many other counties. I would strongly urge all Tipperary hurling supporters to continue to support the Tipperary Supporters Club in any way possible.”
