James O’Sullivan, Main Street, Fethard is one of six Irish pharmacists nominated for the national People's Pharmacist of the Year award for 2016. Jimmy, the popular pharmacist at O’Sullivan’s Chemist, was nominated for going over and above his professional duties to help his customers where possible. He has been known to open his doors after closing hours to accommodate those in need. His staff have also been described as being extremely helpful and the pharmacy is loved.
Jimmy, who is also a lover of theatre and produced Fethard Players last comedy production ‘Never Too Late’ in March, was very surprised with the nomination released by Irish Pharmacy News, saying, “I can't believe that I have been nominated for peoples’ pharmacist of the year award. It is such an honour but also a reflection on the great team that work beside me.”

The award is organised by Clionas Foundation and the winner will be announced at the Irish Pharmacy Awards in Dublin on May 21.
