Looking for information on relatives

Dear Editor,

I am looking for any information on my great grandfather John Condon and his father Michael Condon. They were both Shoemakers.

According to John’s Army discharge papers, he was born in the Parish of St. Mary’s near the town of Clonmel in 1840.

He joined the British Army (46th Regt of Foot) on January 5, 1859, in Clonmel and served in India, England, Ireland, West Indies and finally settled in Portsmouth, U.K.

Michael was deceased by 1871, when John was married in Winchester, U.K.

My grandfather, John’s son, said that he had a cousin Brigid who had connections to the Guinness family.

I would really appreciate anyone who may have knowledge of them to contact me.

Yours,

Mrs Cherry Thompson (nee Condon)

Merlewood, Heathfield Road
