The Friends of South Tipp General Hospital have donated €19,550 to the hospital to purchase eleven Anatome chairs for its medical and surgical wards.

The design of the chair meets the needs of patients, as it has retractable heads and ram rests. Staff in the hospital have found that it is a necessary aid for patients.

The chair is not only used to provide the correct position for patients following illnesses such as strokes but can also be used to transfer patients from wards to the physiotherapy department for rehabilitation.

The patient is secure in the chair, which allows patients to relax in a safe environment, and it's easy to move around as it has good handling qualities and isn't heavy.

Patients and staff who are already benefiting from the chairs are grateful to the Friends for their generosity.
