Tipperary’s top volunteers to be honoured

Muintir na Tíre begins its 75th anniversary year with the “TASK Volunteer of the Year Awards” which will be announced and presented on Saturday February 4 at the McGrath GAA Centre, Bansha, Co. Tipperary. The awards will recognise those who have made a significant voluntary contribution to the work of Muintir na Tíre and to their own community during 2011.

Muintir na Tíre begins its 75th anniversary year with the “TASK Volunteer of the Year Awards” which will be announced and presented on Saturday February 4 at the McGrath GAA Centre, Bansha, Co. Tipperary. The awards will recognise those who have made a significant voluntary contribution to the work of Muintir na Tíre and to their own community during 2011.

Regional and National Award Winners will be announced on the day in the categories of Community Development and Community Alert and the National Winners will each receive a cheque for €1,000.

This is the inaugural year of the awards which are sponsored by TASK Community Care and will be presented by the Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Alan Kelly, T.D.
