The important and life saving knowledge of being able to cross a busy roadway safely was on the agenda, last Friday, when the little boys and girls of one Cahir preschool took part in ‘Beep Beep Day.’

On Friday, June 8, the children from Marie and Geraldine Byron’s Play & Learn Preschool and Montessori, held their Beep Beep Day in conjunction with South Tipperary County Childcare Committee and the National Roads Safety Authority.

Despite the poor weather conditions the children were enthusiastic to put their skills of crossing the road at the pedestrian crossings in Cahir into practice.

Deirdre Hayes, Cahir Traffic Warden was also on hand to give practical advice to the children on the Day.

On the same morning the children paid a visit to the local library there Linda treated the children to a morning of storytelling, and painting by Tina Looby.

Grateful thanks from Marie and Geraldine to Ann Tuohy, Cahir Library for facilitating them on the day.

Deirdre Hayes, Cahir Traffic Warden, Linda, and Tina, Cahir Library, and Mr. Gerry Hickey, Manager, South Tipperary County Childcare Committee, thanked everyone who supported Marie and Geraldine on the day, with a special word of thanks to the parents who helped out.
