Tidy Towns are ‘busy bees’

The Cahir Tidy Towns Group are still busy bees with trying to prepare for judging of the South Tipperary Environmental Competition and hopefully we have enough done in the first round of National Judging to merit a second visit as we strive for National Honours.

The town is just finishing project work in year two of a three year plan and no doubt the town is looking much better from it.

The next item on the plan is the bed on the Ardfinnan road and this will be a huge undertaking. Tidy Towns would like to thank Gerry O’Donnell (JCB) and John Butler (dumper), Liam Tarrant (sand) and stalwart Bill Coffey (JCB hire) who have contributed to the project.

Thanks also to the stonemason (Tyrone) and Paddy Fitzgerald (stone), Michael Corbett, who donated cement and Derek Fanning have contributed silently also on this case. The group and town are deeply indebted to you for your time and contribution.

Litter pick and general duties as normal on Wednesday next. Meet at 7pm in car park and all are welcome to lend a helping hand as Tidy Towns volunteers work to make Cahir look its very best.
