Despite the sub-zero temperatures on the run up to Christmas the shops and supermarkets were very busy, local shopkeepers said that people shopped local this year, which was good for the economy in Cahir.
The Christmas Lights all over the town were very welcoming and festive. Cahir Development must be congratulated on erecting them every year. It is a huge expense for the CDA but for contributions from the business in the town and other fundraising activities it is vitally important that our town is lit and looking well every Christmas.
A special thanks to An Post who delivered the Christmas mail so promptly during the days leading up to Christmas.
A word of thanks too for the County Council workers who kept the streets of Cahir clean and tidy over the festive season and also kept the main roads gritted during the bad weather.
