Arson attack on rail vehicle causes €10,000 worth of damage

An estimated €10,000 worth of damage was caused to an Iarnrod Eireann vehicle that was maliciously set on fire at Carrick-on-Suir Railway Station last week.

An estimated €10,000 worth of damage was caused to an Iarnrod Eireann vehicle that was maliciously set on fire at Carrick-on-Suir Railway Station last week.

The crew cab located in a secure compound at the railway station at Cregg Road was set alight in the early hours of last Wednesday morning (June 5).

Sgt. Ian Barrett appealed to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity around Cregg Road around 3am on this date to contact Carrick-on-Suir Garda Station with information. The station can be contacted at (051) 640024.
