Carrick-on-Suir arrest following burglary and break-in

Gardai have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with an aggravated burglary on a house and a break-in at a hackney business in Carrick-on-Suir during which a car was stolen last week.

Gardai have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with an aggravated burglary on a house and a break-in at a hackney business in Carrick-on-Suir during which a car was stolen last week.

The aggravated burglary occurred at a house in the town around 6pm last Wednesday, December 14. The burglar entered the house and demanded money from the occupants.

In the early hours of last Thursday morning, a hackney business was broken into in Carrick-on-Suir and an Avensis car connected with the firm was stolen.

Sgt. Ian Barrett of Carrick-on-Suir Garda Station said a Carrick-on-Suir man was arrested last Thursday in connection with both crimes and a file on the case is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

He reported that the stolen car has been recovered.
