Rockwell College pupils joined approximately 50,000 pupils nationally in proudly celebrating their Leaving Certificate results last week. Over the last 5 years, 25% of Rockwell candidates annually have achieved points of 500 or higher, with 10% of pupils this year exceeding 550 points.
Congratulations, in particular, to Michael Purcell from Ballinaree, Cashel for achieving 615 points.
There were strong results across all subjects, with the science subjects scoring highly and bucking the national trend. The 11 pupils taking Religious Studies, a subject relatively new to Rockwell’s curriculum, also performed exceptionally well, practically all of them achieving As and Bs.
For the 15 pupils who repeated their exams, the year proved very worthwhile, with an average increase for the candidates of 97 points. Principal, Audrey O’Byrne and Deputy Principal Michael Doyle said the results were evidence of the commitment demonstrated by the pupils during their time at the College.
