Fethard Tidy Towns committee would like to thank all who helped in any way during the past year.

The adjudication report for this year is now out and we were quite happy with the results.

We received 31 marks out of 50 for the overall development approach; built environment 37 out of 50 marks; landscaping 38 out of 50 marks; wildlife and natural amenities 25 out of 50 marks. Litter control, 35 out of 50 marks, is one of the major problems in the town and countryside. We ask people to be more litter aware and use the litter bins provided – there’s never one too far away from where ever you are. Waste minimisation control for recycling bottles and cans at the bring centre 8 out of 20 marks; residential areas 23 out of 40 marks; roads, streets and back areas 30 out of 50 marks; general impression 7 out of 10.

Overall we did very well gaining six marks on last year. The committee would like to congratulate Holy Trinity National School on their first Green Flag award. Well done to all. There is a lot of work currently underway and we could always do with more help. Please contact any member for further information.
