The role played by the outdoor staff in ensuring that Clonmel’s high standards in the control of litter were maintained has been praised by the Mayor Pat English.
The Mayor applauded the contribution made by the outdoor staff of the Borough Council following the release of the latest survey in the Anti-Litter League by business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL). Clonmel came seventh in the league with a status of ‘cleaner than European norms’.
Cllr.English said the outdoor staff and everybody associated with improving the town deserved great credit.
“I have never seen the town look so well. The hard work that so many people are putting in is bearing fruit”, he said. Members and officials associated themselves with the Mayor’s remarks, which were made at the September meeting of the Council.
