Darren Ryan reappointed to Red Cross governing body

Clonmel Red Cross volunteer Darren Ryan has been reappointed to the Governing Body of the Irish Red Cross as a Government Nominee for the next 3 years.

Clonmel Red Cross volunteer Darren Ryan has been reappointed to the Governing Body of the Irish Red Cross as a Government Nominee for the next 3 years.

Darren, who has been a member of the Irish Red Cross for the last 22 years, was reappointed by Minister for Defence Simon Coveney following Cabinet approval. The appointment comes following Darren’s election to the Board of Directors of the Irish Red Cross in May last year.

Darren is an extremely active volunteer both at National and local level, holding a number of positions within the Irish Red Cross, and has an extensive CV within the Society. - a member of Clonmel Red Cross since he was 10yrs old and is Current Asst. Unit Officer & Branch Secretary;

Current Member of Board of Directors and General Assembly of Irish Red Cross (Government Nominee appointed in May 2012);

Chaired Irish Red Cross Strategy Development Team, which saw the introduction of the IRC Strategy The Way to 2018;

Member of Governance Working Group of the Irish Red Cross, which oversees the Constitution & Operating Rules of the Society; Chairperson of National Child Protection & Garda Vetting Group of the Irish Red Cross;

Former Chairperson of Irish Red Cross Youth;

Attended many National & International events representing Irish Red Cross & Red Cross Youth and is the Irish Red Cross Youth representative on National Youth Council of Ireland Policy & Advocacy Group.

Speaking following his reappointment, Darren thanked Minister Coveney for expressing his confidence in him to continue as a Government Nominee to the Irish Red Cross and is looking forward to his 3 year term ahead.
