Aldi Stores (Ireland) Ltd. has unveiled plans for a store at Davis Road, Clonmel.
The company has applied to Clonmel Borough Council for planning permission to develop the new store at Davis Road, at the former livestock yard. The application includes the demolition of the existing building on the site and the construction of a single-storey Aldi Discount Foodstore (to include an off-licence) with a gross floor area of 1,476 square metres.
The proposed development includes the provision of a new roundabout on the Davis Road, an internal access road that provides access to the subject site and the lands to the south; 93 car parking spaces, an electricity sub-station and all associated landscaping and site development works.
The company refused to comment when asked if it would keep its existing store at Western Road, Clonmel open.
