Fine Gael’s Cllr. Joe Leahy has welcomed the news that toilet facilities will soon be available once again at Clonmel Railway Station. The busy station, which also operates as the main Bus Eireann stop in Clonmel, has been without toilet facilities for a considerable length of time, much to the inconvenience and discomfort of passengers.

“The lack of toilet facilities in Clonmel Railway Station has been a problem for some time. I took the matter up with Clonmel Borough Council, Bus Eireann and Iarnrod Eireann, asking them to resolve the issue and end the misery for service users ” says Cllr. Leahy.

In a letter received on Tuesday of last week he was informed by the Services Manager of Bus Eireann that the shop area in the station has been let to a new tenant, is currently undergoing a re-fit and that toilet facilities will be available once again from next month.
