The amalgamation of Fianna Fail in North and South Tipperary will be celebrated with a gala dinner dance in Thurles later this month.
The organisations in both the North and South of the County have come together for the first time since 1948 as most of County Tipperary will form a single five seat constituency in the next general election with parts of Lower Ormond going into the Offaly constituency.
Last year Thurles man and Fianna Fail Vice Presidential candidate Arthur Griffin was elected as the chairman of the new Tipperary Fianna Fail Comhairle Dail Ceanntair at its inaugural meeting in Boru Boru in Cashel.
Now the party will celebrate the amalgamation of the new constituency with a dinner dance in the Anner Hotel in Thurles on Saturday, March 23 at 7.30pm where Fianna Fail Leader and Cork South Central TD Michael Martin will be guest speaker.
Speaking this week National Executive Member Leonie O’Connell said that that tickets for the event are priced at €25 and can be purchased through local Comhairle Ceanntair reps, or from herself at 083 3103957.
Please note, tickets numbers are limited and are strictly on a first come first served basis.
