Three foreign nationals arrested in Cahir rape allegation

Gardai arrested three foreign national men aged in their 40s last week in connection with the rape and assault of a woman in Cahir on Monday evening, November 17.

Gardai arrested three foreign national men aged in their 40s last week in connection with the rape and assault of a woman in Cahir on Monday evening, November 17.

The victim of the vicious attack was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital and later transferred to University Hospital Waterford for treatment for her injuries. She has since been discharged from hospital.

Two men were arrested in connection with the crime on Monday, November 17 and were subsequently released without charge. A third man was arrested in Limerick last Wednesday and appeared before Cashel District Court on Sunday charged with an offence related to the intimidation of witnesses. He will appear before Cashel Court again this Thursday.

A file on the case is being prepared for the DPP and further charges are expected to be proferred.
