Fire at Clonmel motor dealership

Part of Barlo Motors showroom in Clonmel was damaged by fire that broke out in a car parked in front of the building in the early hours of Monday morning.

Part of Barlo Motors showroom in Clonmel was damaged by fire that broke out in a car parked in front of the building in the early hours of Monday morning.

A Fire Service spokesman said the emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the Davis Road car dealership at around 3.40am on Monday.

A fire tender from Clonmel Fire Station rushed to the scene and spent two and a half hours putting the blaze under control. The front of the building was damaged in the blaze while the car was destroyed.

The Fire Service spokesman wouldn’t comment on the cause of the blaze. A spokesman for Clonmel Garda Station said they were investigating the fire but they don’t believe the cause was malicious.
