The family of a seriously ill two year-old Cashel boy have sent a message of thanks to the organisers and supporters of a fundraising fancy dress event in aid of their son.

Ellen O’Brien and Mark Moloney from Castle Green Crescent, Cashel said they wished to thank all the staff in the Golden Vale Pub in Dundrum, especially Sean Breen and Joanne for all their work in organising the fundraiser for their little son Lee.

They said they also wished to thank everyone who donated raffle prizes and supported the fancy dress night on August 6, which raised about E500.

Ellen and Mark’s youngest son has been seriously ill since he was born. Doctors believe he suffers from a genetic syndrome, although they have so far been unable to identify it.

The campaign to raise funds for Lee’s medical treatment was started by Josie Butler, a great friend of Lee’s late grandmother Ann Moloney, and her husband Liam.
