Tipperary hurler Paul Curran had a busy three days both on and off the field last weekend.

On Friday the All Star full-back, a teacher at St. Mary’s Primary School in Clonmel, married Tracey Lonergan.

No sooner had the celebrations concluded than he was in action for Mullinahone’s footballers on Sunday afternoon, helping them to beat Emly by 1-11 to 0-6 in the County Intermediate Football Final in Clonmel.

Paul lined out at midfield and was joined on the team by his three brothers - Niall, Alan and Sean - and his new brother-in-law, Michael Lonergan, who played in goal.

That win completed a memorable double for Mullinahone, who won another county title on Saturday when they beat Nenagh Eire Og by 1-18 to 0-18 in the Minor A Hurling Final in Templetuohy.

The club’s Intermediate footballers return to Clonmel Sportsfield on Sunday when they take on Mountcollins of Limerick in the Munster Club Intermediate quarter-final.
