Cahir Tidy Towns have teamed up with WEEE Ireland to promote an electrical recycling day on Saturday, October 27, from 10am to 4pm in the Castle Car Park.
The Tidy Towns need to promote waste minimisation in an effort to gain extra marks in next year’s competition.
The group are also looking for households to survey their own houses and cut back on energy and waste over a four month period from December to March, where you tread the meter and compare with previous years etc but all will be revealed at a public meeting with the Tipperary Energy Agency in the Shamrock Lounge on Wednesday, October 31 at 8pm.
Those who entered last year’s made an average saving of €280 in the period of the four months and there are also prizes to be won in doing so. If anyone can take part we would be delighted if they could attend the meeting to find out more. There is no onus on anyone to take part.
Elsewhere Tidy Towns are busy digging the geraniums and trying to save them for another year. They continue to do the litter and complete jobs that will benefit the town next year.
Finally, Tidy Towns would like to thank and congratulate Dolans Super Value on a fantastic job at the old mill site and this will also be a big help to Tidy Towns next year.
The National Adjudicators landscaping results will continue next week or otherwise you can download it from tidytowns.ie for a full report.
