The Tipperary Musical Society is delighted to announce that they have just finished our most difficult job of the year, which is of course, casting the show

After weeks of auditions and call backs the judging panel finally came out with the 'oh so eagerly awaited' cast list. High Society will open to audiences on Monday, February 14, 2011 and run until Saturday, February 19. Cathy Kean, who is joining TMS for the first time this year, has taken on the role of Tracey Lord. Tracey is the letting lady and the show takes place during the weekend where she is due to marry her fianc, George Kitritch. George is played by our very own and very talented Derek Ryan; meanwhile Cathal O' Donahue returns to the stage this year to play the part of Dexter Haven, (Tracey's ex-husband), after taking a well earned break last year. The lovable Dermuid Vaughan and Tipperary Rose Lynda Kelly will perform as two sneaky reporters (Mike Connor and Liz Imbrie), who are sent in undercover to get all the gossip on Tracey's father Seth Lord (Liam Carey) who is trying to get his marriage back on track with Mother Lord (Maureen Walsh). Little Eimer Carew rejoins us this year after her wonderful performance as Chip in last year's show, Disney's Beauty and The Beast. Eimer was one of the four children who played Chip and this year she is taking on a more challenging role as Dinah Lord, (Tracey's little sister). What TMS production would be complete without a little comedy and who better to portray the role of Uncle Willie is none other than Willie 'Bun' Ryan. Uncle Willie is Tracy's uncle who is very fond of the ladies. While all the action is taking place between Tracy and her family, the cheeky servants who are being played by the TMS Chorus are getting up to no good particularly during the number, 'Lets Misbehave'. As confusing as it may seem High Society has something for everyone, from comedy, romance and of course the singing, 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' and 'Will Did You Eva' and just a few to say the least of some of the songs that will be performed. The cast of Tipperary Musical Society would like to wish Maeve O' Sullivan and Niall Murphy the very Best of Luck as the couple are due to be married next week. Maeve who hails from Bansha played the part of Babette in last year's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. We wish you both the health and happiness for now and the rest of your married life together. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors, fans, friends, and members and of course the audience for your continued support in 2010. Without you all Beauty and the Beast would not have been the success it was not to mention any of our other shows and productions. We look forward now to High Society and a great 2011. Merry Christmas
