The Glen 5k Fun run/walk fundraiser takes place on August 10, in the picturesque setting of the Glen of Aherlow for the Glen of Aherlow Community Centre & the Irish Cancer Society.

The recently developed Glen of Aherlow Community centre plays a pivotal role in the social and cultural development of its community members by providing essential amenities and services. This was achieved at considerable expense and the fundraiser will help recoup the cost attached to its redevelopment.

Registration for this event will take place in the Aherlow community centre in Lisvernane at 2.30pm on August 10, and the race will commence at 4pm. Entry cost €10 per adult and €25 per family. Refreshments will be served in the Community centre afterwards with music to follow in Coach Road later that evening. There will be fantastic prizes for the winners and numerous spot prizes. This is a fun event through the beautiful landscape of the Glen of Aherlow, all fitness levels and age groups are welcome and we hope that people will support this event.

Lattin Cullen Ladies Football

Junior ladies travelled to Clonmel Og’s ground last Sunday evening under to play Naomh Brid in the 2nd round of the championship. It was level scores at halftime but we came out more focussed in the second half followed by good scores. With 13 players a side we didn’t have any subs to replace any of the tired players but well done for the great effort put in by each player and credit has to go to Roger, Shane and Timmy for all their hard work.

Arravale Rovers

Our Intermediate hurlers took to the field to play Sean Treacys in the Crosco Cup Final. Having lost to the same opposition in a heated encounter the previous week, this was always going to be a tight affair. However after the 60 minutes had been played, it was the boys in black and amber who emerged victorious on a score line of 1-17 to 1-14. We have not won an intermediate cup since 1997 so this was a fantastic affair. All at the club would like to offer their sincerest congratulations to all management and players, and wish them the very best of luck in the upcoming west semi final.
