Santa arrived into Cashel in a horse drawn sleigh ,last Sunday, and managed to give out presents to all the children who attended as he officially switched on the town’s Christmas lights.
The occasion was organised by the local “Rock Rebel’’ motorcycle club, in which Santa arrived to much joy and cheer promptly after 2.30 as the day was exceptionally cold so the children didn’t have to wait too long.
Santa’s grotto was situated in The Brian Boru bar and the jolly man immediately began to distribute lots of wonderful gifts to the children. After all that, the children enjoyed a kiddies disco and refreshments afterwards. It was such a joy to see so many happy faces. When all the children were catered for, Santa then went outside and switched on the Christmas lights to a great cheer from all.
As Christmas can be a very expensive time for most families, especially in the current climate, top marks should be afforded to both the ‘’Rock Rebel’’ motorcycle club also to the management and staff of the ‘’Brian Boru’’ bar in Cashel as this whole event was free to all who attended. It is not often that functions like this are free so it was a very welcome effort and should be worth a mention. The whole day was most enjoyable for both parents and children alike.
