Gardai in Clonmel have appealed for the public’s help in tracking down a masked robber, who raided a hairdressers in the town by threatening staff and a customer with a knife.

Gardai in Clonmel have appealed for the public’s help in tracking down a masked robber, who raided a hairdressers in the town by threatening staff and a customer with a knife.

A garda spokesman said they were seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the robber entering or leaving the hairdressing business at Pearse Park off the Cashel Road at midday on Saturday, December 3.

The robber, whose face and head were masked by a scarf and hoody, brandished the knife at two terrified staff members and a customer and threatened them with violence.

He made off with a quantity of cash from the premises. The gardai are not releasing how much was taken.

Apart from the hoody top, the robber wearing a dark tracksuit bottoms.

Gardai are following a number of lines of inquiry into the robbery and believe the raider acted alone.
