Four students who completed their Leaving Certificate at Rockwell College in Cashel last June were recently awarded entrance scholarships by University College Dublin in recognition of their academic excellence in the 2012 Leaving Certificate.

Four students who completed their Leaving Certificate at Rockwell College in Cashel last June were recently awarded entrance scholarships by University College Dublin in recognition of their academic excellence in the 2012 Leaving Certificate.

Kate Binchy, daughter of Liz and Fred Binchy, Bruce Villa, Clonmel; Richard Kennedy, son of Kathleen and David Kennedy, Rosanna Rd, Tipperary Town; Philip Quirke, son of Eamon Quirke and Mairead O’Toole, Ballyvaughan, Clonmel and Sophie Sharpe, daughter of Catriona and Dr Damien Sharpe, Coleville Avenue, Clonmel were awarded scholarships at a special ceremony in the O’Reilly Hall last week.

UCD Entrance Scholars are first year students recognised for their academic achievement who have achieved 540 points or more in their Leaving Certificate.

These awards are part of a range of UCD initiatives put in place to recognise exceptional students when they join, as well as those who develop their talents while studying at UCD.
