Tipperary model Roz Purcell travelled to Jordan visiting the Azraq refugee camp, now home to thousands of Syrians, as ambassador for World Vision Ireland’s Survive to Five campaign.
In an area where annual rainfall amounts to a small coffee cup, WVI is providing clean water and sanitation to over 30,000 refugees.
World Vision is the biggest nongovernmental provider of clean water in the developing world reaching a new person every 30 seconds.
“I am really excited to be part of this campaign which is fundamentally about ensuring that children, no matter where they are born, make it to their fifth birthday.” said Roz.
“Thousands of children are dying, not from serious illnesses, but because they don’t have access to clean water and World Vision’s campaign is about tackling those issues.”
