Gardai are investigating a break-in to a Chinese Restaurant in Carrick-on-Suir and two burglaries in Cappawhite and Annacarty last weekend.

The Chinese restaurant on Carrick-on-Suir’s Kickham Street was burgled in the early hours of last Saturday and several hundred euros cash was stolen from the cash register.

Sgt. Ian Barrett of Carrick-on-Suir Garda Station said the burglars entered the restaurant from the rear of the building and they believe the break-in occurred sometime after 1am.

He appealed to anyone, who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of the restaurant on Kickham Street on that night to contact Carrick-on-Suir Garda Station at (051) 640024 with information on what they saw.

Meanwhile, Gardai in Tipperary Town are investigating the burglary of two homes in Annacarty and Cappawhite on Sunday.

A spokesman for Tipperary Garda Station said both burglaries took place during daylight hours and property was taken from both houses.

Like Sgt. Barrett, he appealed to any members of the public, who saw anyone acting suspiciously in both villages on Sunday to contact Tipperary Garda Station at (062) 51212.
